If you love cycling, the Dirty 40 is one of the can’t miss races of the year. The Dirty 40 Race takes place on August 30th in Derby, Vermont and is made up of a field of only 500 riders. The 60 mile race covers 40 miles of the most scenic gravel back roads in Vermont which are also among the best in the country. The Dirty 40 Race welcomes riders of all abilities and disciplines from racers to riders and includes road, cyclocross, singlespeed, tandem, and mountain bikes. It is a no-frills race for those that love cycling in its purist form. For those that race not only for the love of cycling but for the bragging rights, categories for podium include Mens Overall, Womens Overall, Mens 40+, Womens 40+, Mens 60+, Womens 60+, Tandem, and Singlespeed. Registration is a mere $40 and includes: neutral support and broomwagon assistance, fully supported feedzone with passed waterbottles, meal and live music at the Apres-Velo party located at the finish, timing chip, trophy and jersey for winners.
